Columbia Center to Open in Mequon
Boutique-style birth hospital offers unique approach to childbirth
Mequon, Wis. – When Columbia Center opens in a brand new, state-of-the-art birth hospital in Mequon, it brings with it a unique approach to birth services.
The intimate, boutique-style birth hospital begins welcoming mothers in labor to its new hospital in Mequon, Tuesday, Sept. 18. The new hospital will be located on Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee campus. The birthing staffs from Columbia Center and Columbia St. Mary’s Ozaukee will come together under Columbia Center.
The public is invited to preview the hospital at Columbia Center's Open House, Saturday, Sept. 8, 1 - 3 pm, at 13125 N. Port Washington Rd. in Mequon. Guests will have the opportunity to meet physicians, nurses and doulas, enjoy refreshments and tour the new hospital. They may also enter to win a Capella Glider, courtesy of Nemschoff.

Columbia Center is unique in encouraging and supporting families and their medical providers in customizing each birth experience. It offers a wide range of birth services, including hydrotherapy, Wisconsin’s only hospital-based doulas and a diverse selection of pain management options, in an exceptionally nurturing environment.
Columbia Center was created from the birthing unit of the former Columbia Hospital, located on Newport and Maryland Avenue in Milwaukee. It was established as a separately licensed, independent hospital in 2001, prior to the merger of Columbia Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital. Columbia Center is sponsored by Columbia Health System.
