Surgical Technician/Surgical Assistant – Pool
Position Description
The Surgical Technician/Surgical Assistant will provide a supportive role to RNs and physicians in caring for patients receiving obstetric and/or outpatient surgical services. This is a Pool position.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and delivers care to all patients of all developmental levels in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team.
- May function as an assistant circulator under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Assists the surgeon with manipulation – approximation of tissues with instruments and sutures during all types of surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Vocational/Technical diploma as a Surgical Technologist or comparable OJT knowledge/skills.
- To assist in SA role, must have 3-years Surgical Technologist experience.
- Entry level Surgical Technologist to progress to 3-year experience as a ST will enable you to progress to training for surgical assistant program.
