There's no such thing as being too prepared, especially when it comes to motherhood. So it's no surprise that a "birth plan", or "birth preference plan" as it’s more accurately described, is becoming a very helpful tool for mothers today. A birth preference plan is defined as a communication tool that outlines a mother's wishes and helps everyone understand her preferences for labor and delivery. The main goal of this list is to make mother and baby as comfortable as possible so that the birthing process can go as smoothly and safely as possible.

Pediatrician Hero
Columbia Center would like to congratulate Dr. Dan Hagerman for being a 2009 AAP Hero nominee. Last fall the American Academy of Pediatrics Wisconsin Chapter launched a campaign to find stories of the everyday heroes. Dr. Hagerman’s story was submitted and accepted as a nominee. Congratulations Dr. Hagerman for all your work.

On Saturday, February 6, Columbia Center will again be hosting "Prepared With Love: Making Your Own Baby Food."

The event will feature a chef demonstration by owners Scott and Beth Shully from Shully’s Cuisine and Events. Parents will learn how easy, fun and economical making your own baby food can be.
