Columbia Center is an independent, state-of-the-art, childbirth hospital located on the campus of Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon, Wis.
History
Columbia Center is itself a child of Columbia Hospital, the leading 100+ year-old hospital in Milwaukee, Wis., that lives on in what is Columbia St. Mary’s today.
Originally formed in 2001 on the campus of Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee, Columbia Center moved to its brand new facility in Mequon, in 2007. The move brought together the strengths of the staffs of the Columbia St. Mary's Birthing Center and Columbia Center.

Columbia Center strives to maintain higher-than-average staff-to-patient ratios, allowing its skilled labor and delivery nursing staff to provide a high level of personalized attention to its new mothers-to-be
Columbia Center staff members have an average of 16 years experience.
Columbia Center offers Wisconsin’s only hospital-based doula program. A doula provides non-medical emotional and physical support to women during labor and birth.
In addition to inpatient childbirth services, Columbia Center offers a comprehensive range of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting educational classes.
Columbia Center also provides reproductive planning and elective sterilization services, including outpatient tubal ligations and vasectomies. Columbia Center does not perform abortions.

*Instead of moving to a separate room for postpartum recovery, an LDRP room allows a mom to stay in the same room for her entire hospital stay following a vaginal birth.
