Billing Policies and Financial Assistance

Columbia Center is a unique, intimate birthing hospital, where every patient is looked upon as an individual with her own needs and desires about childbirth. We bring our same personalized approach to assisting patients with financial matters.

At Columbia Center, patients receive prompt access to charge and billing information, as well as access to financial counselors and a need-based assistance Financial Assistance Program.

Columbia Center Billing

Patients will begin to receive statements after all insurances have paid. Patients with no insurance will receive a statement in about seven days from discharge. Statements will be generated every 30 days as long as payments are being made.

If a patient balance cannot be paid in full within 90 days, a payment arrangement will be established. If payments are not made, the account will be transferred to a collection agency after three unpaid billing statements. To speak with a billing representative, please call 262.446.0240.

Columbia Center Financial Counseling and Assistance

  • Financial counselors are available to all patients.
  • Patients may be eligible for some level of discount based on a substantive assessment of their ability to pay. The assessment will consider total income and dollar amount of patient responsibility based on a sliding scale.
  • Patients who do not qualify for the Financial Assistance Program, but are in need of financial assistance, will be offered appropriate extended payment terms or other payment options that take into account the patient’s financial status.
