Childbirth and Early Parenting Series (two-class series on Saturdays)

Dates: This is a two-class series meeting on the following Saturdays:

  • Saturday, November 20, 2010 – 9:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • Saturday, December 4, 2010 – 9:00 am to 3:30 pm

Your baby’s birthday is a day you will always remember. This series of classes will help you prepare as that day draws near, so you’ll feel relaxed and confident.

  • Process of labor and birth
  • Coping with labor and breathing/relaxation
  • Important role of the support person(s) and doula
  • Choices in childbirth
  • Communication with your partner and caregivers
  • Cesarean birth and options
  • Physical and emotional changes following birth
  • Characteristics of the amazing newborn
  • Diapering and baby care basics
  • From partners to parents – coping
  • Feeding and nurturing your baby
  • Baby safety

The class also includes a tour of Columbia Center.
