Books of the Month: Someday and Love You Forever
May 08, 2007
Someday
by Alison McGhee, illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds
Love You Forever
by Robert Munsch
(Reviewed by Columbia Center's Ann Grauer)
Just in time for Mother's Day — two great books to touch your heart and warm your soul. They are marketed as children's books, and children do love them, but moms and older kids love them, too.
Someday is just released and has quickly become one of our favorites. It is written to a daughter from her mother. It tells the story of what the mom hopes for her daughter and how they will always have each other. It is so beautifully illustrated and the phrases melt your heart.
Love You Forever is a classic for mothers and sons. Again, written from the mother to her son, it tells of her love and desire to see him grow from babyhood on up. You cannot help but be drawn in by their connection and we've never made it through a single reading of it with dry eyes.
