Parent Education and Support, Columbia Center

Ann says, “I love helping families learn about the birthing and parenting process. It is wonderful to watch parents discover what is important to them and then to see them blossom into the parents they want to be. Working with families at this sensitive time is incredibly rewarding and is never boring!”

Primary
Responsibilities:

Ann wears several hats at Columbia Center. She serves as a parent educator, coordinates the Doula Program and also coordinates the Breast Pump Rental and Sales program.

Experience:

Ann has been with Columbia Center (formerly Columbia Birthing Center) since 1999. She also worked at the Columbia Birthing Center from 1989 through 1993.

Background:

Ann served as President of the worldwide professional organization of doulas, DONA International from 2004 through 2006. She also serves as the 2008 Lamaze International Conference Chair and acts as the liaison for DONA International with Childbirth Connection. Two of Ann’s children were born at Columbia Center (formerly Columbia Birthing Center).
